3 Green Breakfast Juices That Will Boost your Immune System

breakfast juice recipe

There are many opinions about green juices, smoothies or “greenies” as they’re also called. After discovering some very simple yet powerful recipes, I’ve started embracing the green drinks in the morning. In fact, I can’t start my day without one.In this post, I’m sharing my own best green smoothie and juice recipes that will boost your immune system and make you feel more energized throughout the day. I hope you’ll love them as much as I do.

CELERI JUICE

The one juice I swear to is celery juice. Preferably in the morning, about 15 minutes before I have my breakfast, I make a glass of celery juice. It has a massive healing potential (anti-inflammatory properties, for examlpe), and works its magic best when enjoyed on its own. Therefore, you can’t really call it a recipe, but here’s a “how-to” anyway:

1 bunch of celery makes 16 ounces (approx. 4,5 dl). Rinse the celery thoroughly in cold water, cut off any excess and run it through a juicer. You can also blend it until it’s smooth. Drink immediately.

BEETROOT JUICE (WITH A TOUCH OF GINGER & LEMON)

Beetrot has quite a distinguished flavour, which isn’t for everyone. But if you like it, make sure to make it a morning ritual! Not only is beetroot an amazing detoxer and full of vitamins and minerals; studies have shown that beetroot can lower blood pressure and destroy harmful free radicals from your body. You can drink beetroot juice as it is (peel one medium-sized beetroot and run it through a juicer), or – if you’re not too big of a beetroot fan – you can add lemon juice and fresh ginger. To make it even more “child friendly”, add half a cup of apple juice. Voila – your morning is off to a great start!

SPINACH & MANGO SMOOTHIE

If a smooth and creamy smoothie is what you’re looking for to start the day, look no further! I’m sure you’ll love this simple recipe including spinach, mango and peach slices.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1/2 cup frozen peach slices
  • A handful of spinach
  • 1-2 cups of almond milk
  • 1/2 slice of fresh ginger
  • A bit of honey to add sweetness
